In-House Web Applications
In today's world of Internet development, it's often a fine line between developing a web-site and developing a web-application. LACmedia has developed a number of specialty in-house applications and add-ons to existing Open Source programs. We would like to feature a few of those items here.
- phpPortfolio
- verdon's phpPortfolio is an application for managing a portfolio of clients, pieces and projects for a multi-media development firm. phpPortfolio manages our portfolio and also provides dynamic content to many pages on our site. Find out more about phpPortfolio here.
- miniCMS
- miniCMS started off as a custom installation of verdon's phpPortfolio and quickly became a complete website solution, including pages, news, file management, dynamic menuing, breadcrumb navigation, and more. - phpWS modules and add-ons

- phpwsVolunteers is a module for phpWS .9.3.x that allows for detailed profiles of volunteers and matchmaking of volunteers to volunteer agencies, on a phpWS 9.3 driven site. It is currently in version 2 development while version 1 is in use at one of our client sites, volunteernorthbay.on.ca (opens in a new browser window). - verdon's phpwsfileman is a module for phpWS .8.x that allows for the uploading and listing of catagorized files for download, on a phpWS 8.x driven site.
- CSS menu kit for phpWs .8.x
- verdon's CSS menu kit is a theme and script kit for fancy css driven menus for phpws .8.x driven sites.
- CSS menu kit for phpWS .9.x
- verdon's CSS menu kit is a template and css kit for fancy css driven menus for phpws .9.x driven sites.
- DHTML menu kit
- verdon's DHTML menu kit is a theme and script kit for horizontal DHTML driven pop-up menus for phpws .8.x driven sites.
- CSS Theme for phpWS .8.x
- verdon's CSS themes are clean and lightweight themes that are highly customizable almost entirely through the stylesheet.
- CSS Theme for phpWS .9.x
- verdon's CSS themes are clean and lightweight themes that are highly customizable almost entirely through the stylesheet.
- Dynamic theme for phpWS .8.x
- verdon's dynamic theme for phpWS .8.x is a script kit that will dynamically swap head graphics and/or things like stylesheets, and other core layout/theme elements, based on the parent-level menu item that is currently active (value from url).
- openListings customizations and add-ons

- verdon's OR
- verdon's OR is a customized distribution that was forked off the original OpenRealty project. It included new features such as optional restricted viewing of fields, min/max price search, new layout options, new user types, image resizing, and so on. Most of these features and others are now available in the official distribution of Open-Realty. verdon's OR is no longer in active development. verdon's OR is licensed under the GNU PL
- openHouses
- openHouses is an adaption of verdon's OR which is meant for weekly rotation of open house listings. Multiple brokers from multiple agencies maintain thier own listings. Each current week's listings are automatically archived at week's end, and the previous archive purged. There are also new tools for agents to one-click and export a file of thier listings off to the local newspaper, via email, for print publishing, and so on. - artistsListings
- verdon's artistsListings is a solution based on the OpenRealty core, but the similarity ends there. Many new features, both under the hood and to the public face of this solution, make it the ideal portal for another of our clients, noaa.ca (opens in a new browser window)
